So for the last week or so the site has been down and "under construction" and now it is back but it is significantly different and less useful. While it is still "four-thirds.org" all references and knowledge bases related to the older four thirds stuff has been dumped. The site is strictly micro four thirds now. This is unfortunately because it was a great place to quickly look up an old 4/3rds body or lens.
Also the much more convenient charts are gone which looked a bit like the Oly roadmaps where you could easily see all the lenses on one page and at a glance see where their focal length fell across the range.
However even worse is it appears the "Matching Simulator" is no longer there. For those familiar with it, you would probably agree that this was an excellent tool to visualize any four thirds or m43 lens on a camera body to see how large or small the combo would appear. Or to help see how much different something like the 45/1.8 is compared to the 45/1.2.
I supposed this would be considered progress and moving forward, but I don't see how it would have been a problem to still have a side room with all the legacy four-third stuff could still be looked up. Are they hurting for server storage or something?
