Went up to visit a friend, and we took his dog for a walk. Hodge REALLY likes the water.

We had to put down Leo last week as his brain tumor started to overwhelm him. We had him for a little over 8 years, and he is deeply missed. He was a gentle soul and I remember how he walked in and curled up at our feet when we went to see him at the rescue. Patiently saw me through my m43 adoption and posed for each new lens. It is always hard to when pets go away and given that our pets have lifespans much shorter than ours, it seems to happen far too often. But the joy they bring far outweighs the pain of losing them. Thought I would post a few images to celebrate him.

Here was the adoption pic which made us drive 50+ miles to see him.

Those floppy ears might be questionable on a husky, but the tail would do his ancestors proud.

Had a way of lying with his head on his paws when I was trying to take pictures of something close to the ground.

Taken a couple of days before we made the call. Last time he really held his head up and looked at the world.

Our sincere condolences, Sameer.

It has been 4 and 2 months since we had to put down our beloved pussycats. They were litter mates, and were both just over 21.5 y.o. We had them for just over half our married life. They are like children who never leave home ...

I still say goodnight to their photos, and have a little cry at unexpected times.

The reason they cause such grief when they die, is that they give us such unalloyed joy while they are with us.

Again, our hearts go out to you.

My adult son was with us ... my dog watching intently as my son ambles off down the beach for a walk.
