And these were with the same E-M5III + 40-150mm f/2.8 but shot in my garage studio and used my Viltrox LEDs to light up the subject.

For these two I also had some additional light provided by the sun itself (through a white sheet):

That last photograph is really good. How did you do that?
Thanks! Nothing special there: White (collapsible) backdrop, LEDs on both sides in a roughly 45 degree angle to the dog and sunlight coming from behind me through a white sheet hanging from the open garage ceiling. More aggressive editing than usual to get that look I was after.

All shot with my E-M5III and 12-40mm f/2.8. Lit with 2 Viltrox LEDs (and ambient sunlight lighting up my garage studio).

While both were good, I like these shots a little better than the first set, better detail in the eyes. Anyway you can get the catchlight higher up on the eyes so we can see more of the structure of their eyes?

Here's some of our current pets.
Shadow:

Our little whippet Arlo. He's about whiggy size. Shadow has a bell on his collar because Arlo has gone blind.

We managed to get him off the travelers. They claimed they found him. This is how he looked a month after we got him.

Three months after we had him here with his pack in the background. He's not half the size of the others(please, pardon the use of another camera system).
Left to right is Chloe, Shadow, Arlo and then Fia. All black lurchers.

And here is Arlo 5 months after we took him in:

Thanks!

Hmmm... That can be challenging since the catchlight is the doorway behind me. There isn't that much room for changing the angle I shoot from. Perhaps I could go even lower but that would mean I'd be literally shooting at ground level and that would affect the image too much (+ be more uncomfortable). But you are right about the catchlight not being as great as it should. I need to think about it more... Thanks for the tip!

Speaking of being a forester and tugging at heart strings. I find a lot of things in the woods since we have a road that cuts through our territory. Occasionally we find discarded animals.
One of the residents on the estate found this girl when she was out horse riding and notified me. I went out to find her near the road, eating out of a discarded plastic bag. She was very friendly and allowed me to gather her up and bring her back in to the estate with me where I raised her and allowed a friend to take her in. We still see each other often.

This is after she was cleaned up:

Here she is with Celeste the lamb watching me frame a poly tunnel with a chainsaw - coz that's how a forester frames a poly tunnel:

Walking the hounds last night. A mate joined us and brought Chloe and Eric(the Grey whippet on the left).
This photo was taken handheld in low light as I walked. Love that EM5 IBIS. From left to right:
Eric, Arlo, Fia, my lovely wife, Chloe and Shadow.

And a rather striking Dutch Shepherd met us in the car park and found interest in Arlo:

And here's a photo I dug up taken with my EPL2 back in 2014. The hound with my wife is Ceatharlach, my last Greyhound.

These two are just great pals - Winston (the Cocker, who belongs to a good friend) and our Harley, out enjoying each other's company after spending many weeks unable to meet up. In the open fields near our home...

These are all great pics, but don't we already have a dedicated "For the Dog Lovers" thread?
