@mcgillro Lizzie had to be put down on 3 July, and Rosa just under 3 months later. Both over 21.5 y.o., so a good innings. However, we are sad, and the house feels so empty.

All my lumbar discs and facet joints are buggered, so I understand where you are coming from. The painkillers only take the edge off, and it takes about 2 hours before I can move about reasonably freely in the mornings.

The nurses kicked up quite a fuss about me self-medicating when I had an emergency ablation recently. My cardiologist set them straight about that!

Getting old ain't for sissies, mate!

I can imagine the house would feel empty after having them that long. When I had my previous euthanased seven years I initially couldn't contemplate getting another dog as it was so painful losing him. However I looked after a friend's dog one weekend, and realised how much I did want another dog :)

I do my facet joints every now and then with a twisting lifting motion, but in between I am fine. I can't imagine how you cope, because the spasm is agonising.

Yep I always say getting old isn't for the faint hearted! Some of my patients cope with so much!

Sorry I don't have a more diverse posture of her but all she does is run or try to climb to the top of my head when we sit still outdoors or sleep and play ball indoor.

The next door neighbour's pupper, Buster, looking at his family from the garden ... It breaks my heart every time I look at this image.
(PS. I could not get any better angle even though I have tried to get more of his eye between the fence board and the wall gap, but any more moving to the right the perspective starts covering his nose that I wanted to keep it uninterrupted. This is the best that I could get.)

My sidekick Perry. Wondering why I take photos of trees in October. I tried explaining it to no avail, but she remains patient. She puts up with alot.
