Congrats on the 'new' camera, Melanie.

She/He is on a diet, right?

Ours can't jump up onto anything anymore ... :( .

Yep, Westley got a diet for Christmas, and has visibly lost weight AND a persistent UTI, leading to recovery of his over-groomed belly fur. We don't have scales, so I don't know how much he's lost, but he weighed over 9kg and is on a diet suitable for 6kg cat.

Your cats look amazing for their age, well done!

UTIs can be disastrous. Specially for female mammals because of the complexity of the plumbing!

Lizzie had one just before last Christmas, so they both had an antibiotic shot, which helped.

Lizzie is pretty much blind now, and both have a bit of dementia. Rosa chucks in the afternoon most days. Not worth putting them through anything at their age. Basic care for the rest of their lives, really.

Heroics at this age are not ethically justifiable.

Test shots with my latest toy 7-Artisans 7,5mm f/2,8 II. This was one 120€ well spent. I don't know about the Mk1 but panny color sciense certainly loves this lens.
Cats apparently not so much. They would like to ram the whole camera to where only Olympus colonoscopy dares to go.

Talking of which, trying to nail a shot with a manual lens, even as wide as this one, is already a real pain in the rear department but the best way was again to focus the lens at fixed distance, move the whole camera slightly back and forth and press the button when focus was momentarily spot on.

Rosa, in 2012. One of her favourite spots in the morning, on SWMBO's lap.

Finally got all my Photoshop actions fixed up, collected under one set, saved, exported to CS5 on our other main PC. This was a quick test.

Cat crashed through the flap. "You've got a stick in your whiskers", I told him. But I was wrong. It was half a praying mantis. Not sure whether to ? or ?.

He wasn't keen on having this mug shot taken.
