And I finally found something to help me tell queen from kitty: the daughter has a miniscule black dot between her nostrils! As viewed in these pictures when looking very majestic!
"The black horse is 1/8th inch taller than the white one." ...

The kitties are really quite different ;), but I'm sure you're just joking.

Doesn't matter where I put the WiFi, Jango fits, so he sits!

And even sometimes when he doesn't "fits", he still sits!

Well. After my first brekkie, it's sure nice to catch some naptime beside the radiator, in my unmade bed! My human had his chance to make it during breakfast. Hope he'll remember during second brekkie! Until then, I'll just have to rough it... ???

That's some network you have there, Mark! Jango is beautiful, and agile. Our two were like that until they were about 15-16 years old. Now they can only just jump up onto our bed.
Thanks. I spent some time installing Cat-6 under the house to various rooms some years back and though not fun, it has proven to be a good investment.
It is quite amazing how the lan just seems to grow.
3 NAS Boxes x 2 LAN connections each, 1 NAS Box x 4 LAN connections, a bunch of gaming consoles (teenager!), Apple TV's and assorted PC's and printers and it starts to add up pretty quickly.

Well, that explains it! If you have installed ?-6, what did you expect?

Yeah, they do that ...

When we moved here about 14 years ago, I ran a Cat 5 backbone cable the length of the house under the southern eave - about 80 feet. This has three Gigabit switches along the way, and the modem/router has another 4x 100 Mbps ports.

My main workstation is at one end has a further network print server with a Laserjet 5 hanging off it, an Epson V700 scanner and an Epson R3880 printer and lots of portable HDDs lurking around. It has about 9 TB of internal drives.

The cable modem and router are at the other end.

Workstations and TVs scattered throughout, along with an Epson XP-970 printer.

NAS is good, but fast ones cost much the same as a decent workstation. I should probably jump for one with a couple of enterprise level drives in it, mirrored.

...and this is while the little birds croon happily, feeding in the tree alongside!

Not a particularly great pic but the cat was intrigued to discover the source of the buzzing sound, as my Oly Mju rewound its film roll. If it had continued, I have no doubt the she would have taken her claws to it.

Guided my daughter through some cat photos today to give her something to work with for an art lesson. This is her favourite.

Ulysses has been reunited with his friend Ithaca. They were supposed to come to Belgium together, but Ithaca had to stay a little bit longer in the shelter in Andalusia because she caught a parasite.

She is the sweetest, softest, quietest kitty.

My cat, Horace, briefly awakening from his post-midnight nap, on the living room couch, to look at the biped with the camera.
