And now, more than two months after Simba have disappeared from our lives, finally Isis have taken Simba's spot on top of me, when watching TV in bed.

But neither one of the sisters comes onto my lap, as of yet. It was the number one favourite spot of Simba. At least when I was at home. And clearly one of his most treasured possessions.

If I wouldn't let him onto my lap because I was doing something, and needed my lap for myself, he would growl at me, sometimes.

You can guess what happened next...

That's right. Simba on my lap.

Going through old stuff.

I won't be able to get new pictures of Simba, so I might try to polish up some things that previously fell by the roadside for different reasons.

I'm hoping you'll bear with me.

More Simba remembrance after trivial Stove Stories...

I've been lousy at taking new pictures of the sisters, on account of the winter darkness in Ultima Thule, but they don't seem to mind spending time together with me in bed.

On the upside is that my kitchen renovation is almost done. I've got a nice induction cooktop and a high tech (for me) extractor hood. The guy who hammered away the old hood said it looked like it was from the seventies.

A nice thing about getting the new stove is that it works nicely with my old cast iron frying pans. Also the cats won't burn their paws if they jump on top of it. Not that they ever did that with the old one! And I also got rid of an extensive oven cleaning (hate doing that).

Big yecchy holes finally plugged. Only a small detail or two before the stove area is complete. What a relief!

The old ones of today are from Pentax Q w/Pentax 110 24 mm glass.

I think he would have liked the new stove. At least he always seemed to like what I liked, so I think he would have had my back on this too.

Out for a stroll and I saw this little guy planning a sneak attack on an unsuspecting baby bird.

Beautiful shot of a very pretty kitty.
The fur bokeh bubbles are really good looking! Envious of your light! Haven't seen anything like that since September.
Thank you, John and Eric! We haven't had much sunlight recently, and I was glad I could take advantage of favourable conditions! We've had Fernando for about 18 months, and he is very clearly The Boss!
