No EXIF in these Jpegs, because they were converted by the port of DCraw to Android discussed in this thread:

Simba doesn't seem to mind, though😼

Just found this thread and lots of wonderful Fuzzybuddies here!

Thought I'd add two pics of our "princess" Sura to share with the group.

OK, no pictures of the subject of this post.
I just need your input and maybe some moral support.

Here goes: Almost every day now, some beautiful butterflies shows very bad judgment by innocently fluttering into my house.

I'm living with three cats. You can guess the rest, but I'm not going to spare you at least some of the gruesome details.

They immediately catch the poor bug and then they torment it for much longer than one would think possible, taking turns.

Think Spanish Inquisition.
Think Witch Hammer (Part Three).

When they at last are finished with their cruel pastime, I usually find the butterfly still alive, thoroughly mangled, and helplessly twitching on my kitchen floor. A broken shell of its former self.

So I do a Kevorkian on the poor fellow.

Once in awhile, but seldom, I manage to shoo the butterfly away before my little monsters catch it.

Other times, I try to save it and put it out on the balcony, but then, it's either too traumatized to take off, or it's hurt badly enough, without it showing, to be able to.

In any case, the cats get it back inside, and their fun and games start anew.

What can one do, other than look the other way? The cats can't help it. And if they commit similar unspeakable cruelties to, like, a horse fly or something, I stand by and applaud them.

I think the worst thing is that they don't even eat the butterfly when they are finished with it. Flies they at least eat.

What's wrong with me?

And still they are bloody cute...

EDIT: Phew. Felt good getting that off my chest. At least now all of you are my accomplices, kind of...
