Cats lives matter!

As part of a frank exchange of opinions earlier today between myself and
His Imperial Magnificence, Lord Simba al'Akbar,
he has made the following official statement:
"Man has been ruling the Earth as a stumbling, demented child king long enough!"

As two of the most flagrant examples of this human mismanagement of the planets limited resources, he cites the packaging of cat treats, and tuna cans, which both are unnecessarily bothersome to pry open.

I actually had to think long and hard to come up with this response:
"Well, if they'd been easier to open, then cats would have no reason to keep us around, would they?"

It's a testament to the unerring logic of cats that he accepted this gracefully and purring, when I finally opened that cat treat enclosure...

Chicken fingers
We had to put him to sleep last year. 19 years old. I gave that diabetic cat two insulin injections a day for 6 years.

He was a good boy.

It's always hurtful when the moment comes... 😿 Thankfully, after a while you understand that you had to do it, for the good of your friend. And then, after a while longer, you remember the good moments more than the final, sad one...

So sorry 😭 .

There comes a time ...

Our pair (litter mates) will be 21 y.o. in 4 month's time. Who knows if one or both will make it? We watch over them very carefully, as we wouldn't want them to suffer a moment longer than absolutely necessary.

Good on you for looking after him so well, and for so long.
