I've been off for a while. My antiquated Dell Inspiron desktop died on me and I was unable to repair it. At first blush it looked like a power supply failure. I replaced the power supply for under $30, but that wasn't the problem. Local shops wanted $150-$200 to diagnose the problem. Since this was more than the 10 year old machine was worth, I decided to scrap it and replace it with new hardware.
I haven't had a Macintosh since the early 1990's. I loved them then, but was forced to switch over to a PC when I started working for a PC software developer. I've been looking forward to the switch back! Of course things have really changed in 30 years - I've been doing a lot of learning with my new iMac. As a learning project, I have written about my favorite cat, Lana, who shared my life from 2008 to 2017.
