Putting your eye up against the extended eyecup can block out more of the light that can enter around the periphery of your eye when compared to using the stock flat eye piece. It helps to minimize distractions and stray light when using the viewfinder, especially in daylight. Many folks really like these, but I have use my left eye, and it just doesn't work comfortably for me.

The deeper eyecup also keeps my lcd on while the standard eyecup keeps switching from lcd to evf. I guess while I'm selecting functions on the lcd the deeper eyecup blocks the light and no longer swirches between lcd and evf and back again.

Great timing! Not sure why, but I haven't been on this forum for a couple years. A couple days ago I noticed that the eyecup for my E-M1 Mark II was missing. How do I proceed from here?
