35-100 is getting tempting. How's the AF? Fast or slow for 4/3? Noisy? It would be perfect for my daughter's ballet performances...but not if its too slow to keep up and noisy enough to disturb people.

On the E-M1 with the latest firmware, I've found the autofocus to be quite good, even in low light. Probably comparable to the 75mm 1.8, but not as fast as the 40-150 pro. The focus limiter will probably help in a dance recital environment. I was even able to use AF-TR with moderate success as long as other objects didn't cross in front of my subject. I, however, wouldn't recommend using it with a camera body other than the E-M1.

Af noise was actually something that kept me on the fence for a long time before finally deciding to get it. After using the lens in a variety of situations, I found it's really not that loud. No one is likely to notice it unless their head is right next to your lens. It's not silent, but I definitely wouldn't say it is obnoxiously loud either. I would only advise against it if you will be shooting in close proximity to other people in a completely silent room with good acoustics where noise wouldn't be appropriate (any ambient noise or short distance from others would easily cover af noise).

Only the amazing 35-100mm f/2.0 remains.

    All Gone.
