I received this lens this afternoon and after testing it out on my Gh2 I find there is some slight noise with focusing. I also have the Olympus 45 f1.8 and it is totally silent on my GH2. Do I have a defective 25mm lens or is it normal on this lens to have a slight clicking sound when focusing? Thanks in advance,
    Jane

your not alone dude all of us has that problem.. It's normal, but on Gh2 it shouldn't be that noisy.. If you have Oly bodies you'll see its worst their. so dnt worry about it.. Its a nice lens. ENJOY!

Thanks Rex, it really isn't that noisy on the GH2 but I just tried it out on the ep2 and it is really obnoxious on that camera.

It's a quirk (or a bug) with how the Panny body and Lens interact to open and close the aperture too frequently. There are several threads here and elsewhere on this. Search for "rattlesnake" and you'll find it. It's kind of random as to which bodies it's worse on.

Jim, after trying it out on my EP2 I can certainly see why it is called that.

Yes, it is a great lens - a keeper! It's super paired with the GH2 and the noise is very negligible on that camera.

I have no noticeable noise on my copy on my GH2. Then again, I may not notice these things as much. Compared to some of the old autofocus motors from the 80's and 90's these lenses are very quiet.

Too true! One of my fav lenses on a Canon crop DSLR was the 35mm 2.0. The focus noise sounded like grinding a bag of marbles and dry sand together. :)

Not as bad as the old 70-300 f3.5-5.6 generation1. You could hear that one across a room!
