I've set the Rec button to switch between AF/MF.

In AF mode, Fn1 button locks exposure.

    Will the following lock focus?

    - Half-press the shutter to perform Auto-Focus (then release the shutter button).
    - Tap the Rec button to switch to MF.

Will focus stay in the position set by the AF?

    - Tap the Rec button again to release lock and return to AF.

    Yes, it does for me.

Also, if you are using the the 12-50 lens with the function button on it set to its default 'stop focus' (meant for video use), you can use that to hold focus after obtaining focus with S-AF.

    Thanks Ross!

I also do that with other cameras, but I couldn't find any guarantee that focus will not move when you switch focusing modes.
