Focus Issues with G1 ?

I am seeing numerous soft images from my G1. When focusing on an object in a room about 30 ft away, what appears in focus in the viewfinder then comes out very out of focus. I notice indoors this is worse. I wonder if this is due to low light?

Used AF or Manual Focus?
Shutter speed uses on blurry images?
A sample image with EXIF in tact?
