To ease the creation of Focus Stacks I created a simple Android app to automate the image acquiring process. Here are some example:

183 Images, with GH4 and Olympus 60mm Macro. Post Process in Helicon Focus

Here some more examples with the test license from Helicon:

You can also use CombineZ for stacking as another user is reporting here

Hi, interesting, but your listing in the Play store is missing a description of what the app does, how it connects, many which cameras it works with.

There is a user guide in the description. Basically the app shots a picture, move the focus, shot the next one until you have created a series of photos with different focus. Then you have to load them into a program like Helicon Focus or CombineZ to create a focus stack. With this technique you can easily create pictures with an extreme depth of field. This is very useful for macro photographers. Here another example:

That's a cool idea. I'll need to try it.

I assume Photoshop can also combine them?

Yes, but it becomes very slow if you are using more then 10 images. In my Flickr album you can find two PS examples.

But the latest G7 firmware can do Focus bracketing by itself, wouldn't that also work?

Latest firmware for gx8, g7 and gh4 is post focus. While can be use for focus stacking, it's limited to 8Mpixel, not the full resolution.

I have this app. it is useful if you do a lot of macro (which I do). Very useful for stuff like wasp nests where you want to take a series but don't want to stay close. Very inexpensive for what you get.

Doesn't work with Panasonic GX7 unfortunately. Even though the camera and the smartphone are connected the App doesn't connect to the camera, even though it finds the WiFi Connection. A real pity, I bought the app hoping it works.

It works with my GX7, there's definitely something wrong there.
