I'm looking for a flashgun that has both (1) old-style auto mode (so I can use it on a non u4/3 camera) and (2) FP-mode (so I can use it as fill in daylight).

According to the following chart, Olympus FL-36, 50 / Panasonic FL360, 500 / Metz 58 AF meet both criteria.
    Olympus External Flash Support

Are there other flashguns that have both features?

FL-600R. It's the size of the FL-36R with the recycle time of the FL-50R.

I think the Metz 50 AF-1 also meets your criteria.

    Metz 50 doesn't have non-TTL Auto mode.

Some of the recent Metz models support non-TTL Auto with a firmware upgrade. They call it Servo Mode.

"Servo" is Metz-speak for slave mode. That's available on a number of models. Some need a firmware upgrade to enable use as a dumb slave (no need for dedicated wireless system to control the flash).

Of their dedicated flashes, only the 58 has an auto thyristor.
