I just purchased a Nissin Di-466 hot shoe flash for my OM-D EM-1. I have a Canon dedicated hot shoe extension cord. Will that work with Olympus? If so, will the TTL function work as well? Thought I might save some if I don't need an Olympus specific cord. Thanks

Canon cords work with Olympus cameras and Olympus flash units. I tried this with E-M5 and FL600R.
If your Nissin works in TTL mode with the flash on the camera then it should work through the extension as well.
If not, then of course the cable won't make a difference.

I can confirm that. I have both that flash and a made-for-canon flash extension cord which I use with it. TTL and everything else works fine.

Canon and Nikon TTL cables both work with Olympus and Panasonic u4/3 cameras and TTL u4/3 flashes.

Just Canon TTL cables! I was wrong about the Nikon TTL cables.

i'm sorry to reactivate a dead thread but...
are you sure canon and/or nikon cables will work with olympus m4/3 cameras and olympus flashes?

wow!
can anyone please (please, please, please :)) test this?
I've got a eBay Canon style one that works with TTL on my E-M1/GM5 and i40 flash. The tiny new style kit flash for the GM5 (with the extra pin compared to old 4/3 style) also works as Canon has an extra pin in the same position. As long as it's a straight pass through with the right pins it should work.
