I got the 8mm F1.8 today and went out to test it straight away :)

It feels pro, and i like that it´s longer then my Samyang 7,5mm so you dont get youre fingers in the image as easy.

You do get some CA (most in the corners) but nothing you cant remove easy in camera raw.

And i´m impressed that you dont get any flares from the sun, as you can see in some of my images i do have the sun in the image.

    So here´s some images.

    F1.8 1/500 Defished

    F1.8 1/8000

    F3.5 1/2500

    F3.5 1/1250

    F3.5 1/4000

    F1.8 1/1600

    F1.8 1/8000

    F1.8 1/8000

    F1.8 1/4000

    F1.8 1/500

    F1.8 1/200

It´s nice to have a fisheye with AF and F1.8 but it comes at a price, a high one :p

    These are really good pictures.

Aren't you in a Scandinavian country? Sweden if memory serves? Do you have dark skies that you can get to easily for some star (as points, not trails) photography?

If coma is absent (or near absent) and the stars are sharp at 1.8, I'll be very interested in acquiring this lens for Milky way shots...

I´ve never really been into starphotography, but maybe i´ll try it now :)

Thank you, kind sir @GRID@GRID. I have been scouring the internets for these type of pictures with 8mm 1.8 pro, but haven't seen any just yet.

Nice results. Resolution still looks pretty good defished, I'm impressed. How much do you need to crop away to maintain edge integrity?

Do you have dark enough nights? Here at Ivalo the sun is up 24/7, maybe you are more south though... Very nice photos BTW, as always from you! I should use fish-eye more often for close-up shots too. The f/1.8 and weather sealing are certainly tempting features compared to the already great Samyang FE.

Sun goes down at 22 here, but it´s propably not dark enough, so youre right, i´ll have to wait a few month :)

    12mm f4.5

    8mm f3.5

I had a chance to take some uninspiring test shots today. The top is the 12-35 @12 and the bottom is the 8mm fisheye both of these are SOCJPEG.

One thing I noticed was the lens was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I was quite pleased with the size. The corners are pretty sharp. There is some vignetting wide open.

Used one for a few live comp images this weekend. I really liked it overall. The composition isn't great because I was trying to get the lightning but some turned out pretty cool.

    Great close up shots Grid!

Here's one from me. Had a test run with it, not a wedding photography but just happened to be at the right place right time :)
