It started snowing last night so my wife took our daughter outside to play so I took the GH2 + 45mm F/1.8 out to play.

    Suited up!

Twenty years from now, that last image will remain as crisp and fresh as it is today. Forget the composition (which is very good with the subject isolation, BTW). Forget the very competent technical capability of the GH2 and 45mm: the image could have been captured with a disposable film camera bought from the local Walgreens.

It is the fact that you had a camera at the right moment that makes the image a standout.

As a father of a now 16YO, I remember the days when she just that; a bundle of exuberance and unbridled joy.

    Thanks for sharing that memory.

I seldom have an opportunity to witness events like this, even with 20 (at last count) grandchildren and step-grandchildren. It's my own fault. May God forgive an old fool who was always too busy to stop and enjoy the people I was closest to. I hope nobody makes the same mistakes I did.

taunies, those are great shots of a beautiful child. Cherish the memories of these times!

Thanks for the kind words everyone :) I try my best to get as many shots and moments as I can. There'll be a time when she will hate me for images like those below, but I imagine by the time she gets to her 20s she'll be glad I did because I wish there were more pics of me growing up, but film was expensive and we were refugees/immigrants so there's like maybe a handful of pics of me before the age of 3?

Good stuff. These are all treasures and at one point you'll remember where they are buried, dig them up and enjoy an immeasurable richness of memories.
