this is my 5th shot with EM-5.. straight out of box with default settings.. it comes set on "P"... I attached Panny 14-45 with OIS off.. I was just testing.. but it looks OK I think as far as colors and sharpness.. I was sitting in my car outside the camera store.. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/67885296@N02/6932097142/" title="P1010005 by MrDoug1, on Flickr">"1024" height="768" alt="P1010005"></a>

I just got into this system with an E-PL1 and an E-P2 (both at greatly reduced prices) so an OM-D is still way into the future. Very sharp images, have fun.

Hey Doug! Congrats! Do you have the PL25? If yes, can you please see if the PL25 does the rattle snaking on the EM5 under bright conditions?

That's a great first minute. Couldn't resist unboxing it in the car, huh? I'm loving my new E-M5. It looks like you will too. Congratulations.

Thanks Doug! Counting on you! :)

If there's no chatter/rattlesnaking, will likely say bye to Xpro1 and hello OMD!

Ok.. my report back.. I went out this morning with E-M5 (about 10:30 AM) partly sunny with PL25 and shot maybe 20 shots.. I even pointed it directly at the brightest possible position.. no noticeable rattlesnake.. I thought wow .. this is good.. just a slight click noise as camera adjusted to Aperture setting.. however as the day went on.. I went downtown by the Capitol and fired it up again...in a little brighter Sunlight and it started the rattlesnake.. I moved to the shade and had it in my lap turned on... and still was rattlesnaking just sitting in my lap... BIG TIME>. hard to explain.. it was perfect for the first 20 shots or so.. then it went South.. towards Texas.. LOL.. so the bottom line is: YES.. the EM-5 does rattlesnake with the PL25.. but it takes nice pics. but my concern is the rattlesnaking has to be hard on the lens in the long run.... I will just use it on my Panny G3 or any compatible Panny camera....and all will be good.. but kinda disappointed as well.. here are a few of shots with the PL25 on EM-5.. just test shots.. Oh by the way.. I tried to eliminate rattlesnake in every possible mode on the camera..

I should add.. why didn't it rattlesnake at first with full battery charged.. and then it did after battery drained some..??? is there any correlation.. ??? go figure.. could it be that at battery full charge no rattle.. and as battery gets weaker it rattles? LOL.. probably not.. just a thought.. crazy thought.. but any thought is better than none.. LOL..

I remember being able to take some shots with my ep3 without the rattle, but then it would start up and be out of control! Seems like there should be some sort of firmware that could fix it, crossing my fingers.

Doug, the photo's really look good, but why no photo of the blue football field turf
Regarding the PL25, don't look for a firmware up-date from Olympus, that will have to come from Panazonic.

I will get some shots of the Blue Turf.. I hope that Panasonic can fix the compatibly problem with the PL25 on the Oly :43: bodies.. but that maybe a difficult task for them.. if it was simple.. I think they would have fixed it by now.. I am sure they (Panasonic) have had many complaints about the problem to this date..

Any red dot problems like the E-PL2 if you point it at a light source with the aperture stopped down?
