Ducks on our local river. The weather has been so mild in the east of the UK that the ducks are pairing off and mating again.
The pier is at Cromer on the north Norfolk coast taken just before sunrise.

First one looks a bit odd, like a negative. Also, the male duck's aura is showing

    Second one looks really nice!

nice! the first one has a sort of strange quality, but I like it. what method did you use? Silver Efex?

Yes, Silver Effex but perhaps not the right effect on the ducks. I tried playing with the sliders. The pier is high contrast effect with a little bit of nudging on the sliders afterwards.

Yeah nice work..I prefer the 2nd one. As others have noted the first looks..unnatural (well more than usual for a B&W).

Could you post the original of the second image? I really like it!

As for the first; seems someone has been a little heavy handed!!

Hello Jay. I could post the original but it is in colour and this is a black and white section. Could someone advise me on this please. Alternatly you could look at my website and there is a colour copy on there.
