Has anybody upgraded the firmware? Olympus claims "Stability of touch panel operation during playback was improved". Not sure what was wrong with the touch panel in the first place. Those who upgraded, did you notice any difference at all?

Me too, I'd be interested in hearing about this.

I installed FW 1.2 onto my refurbished EPL5 right after it was shipped to me last October. So I can't say if it's any better.

In recent history, I remember that FW 1.2 for the EM5 had bugs and had to be suspended, but that was known within a month of release. The EPL5 update is seven months old now, so it should be safe.

How do you check if there's a firmware update?

I just checked my E-PL6 and it's still using firmware v1.0.

Some E-PM2s and E-PL5s have overly sensitive rear wheels, which are especially problematic when viewing saved pics on your camera. I think that is what Art is referencing relative to the 1.2 firmware.

Having said that, I experienced an E-PM2 with that issue which had 1.2 installed. Oly took it back under warranty, so it doesn't seem like the firmware is an automatic fix.

Dayam, you can check firmware here:
