    Hi Amin,

I shoot in jpeg (Pan G1) at hi resolution. (about 5-6 MP / image).
Unfortunately I was unable to upload an image today because of it's size.
Exceeding 1 MB / image. Can limit be expanded to let's say 10 MB / image ?
(like dpreview) Then I can upload hi res images to this great community, start new threads with hi res images. Local I will store my hi res images on a HDD.
Threads started by me so far I like to start here, at mu-43, instead of dpreview.
Plse do discuss this item with the mu-43 team carefully.
Thanks in advance, I shall be looking forward hearing from you.

    Have a nice day.

    Kind regards, Herman

Why don't you host your images on a photo site (eg. Flickr, photobucket, etc) and link to them here. Or place the image in an album in your profile and link to it there (I think the images can be larger in your albums).

    Thanks for your reply

    Which is appreciated by me.
I just want (like, would love to have) a one stop shop, where I can start threads, discussions, etc as well as host my hi-res images.
Therefore I'm not uploading to flickr etc.
I think this is the right place at the right time to offer hi-res hosting.

    Enjoy your day.

    Kind regards, Herman

I am thinking about possible changes to our file size limits, but I cannot afford to offer what dpreview offers.

I'll keep this thread updated once I've had some time to think over what we can afford to do. This is something I've been researching.

    Filesize

    Hi Amin,

    Thanks for your reply.
Limited filesize withholds me so far away from posting a new thread with picture. I do hope that the limits will match that of dpreview soon.
    Then the party can begin.

    Have a nice day.

    Kind regards, Herman

I've removed the file size limitation, but the total storage allotment is 100MB (could be five hundred 200kb images or ten 10MB images, your choice) per member and subject to change (increase or decrease) in the future.

Please see this post for additional information.

    File size

Try downloading a little programme called 'Photogadget'. It will appear in the dropdown contextual menu when you right click on a photo. It lets you reduce the filesize from, in my case, 2 - 3MB to between roughly 50 - 300kb very easily with no apparent IQ loss on the monitor. I use it when I want to send photos to my parents or friends via e-mail
