I noticed that the sizes of JPEG files straight out of the OM-D are around 8MB. Now, if I take the same pic and convert from RAW to JPEG using Olympus Viewer, I get a file whose size is around 2MB.

    Can somebody tell me why?

    Thanks in advance!

The largest JPEG size (Large Super Fine = LSF) in the camera corresponds to extremely low JPEG compression. Lower than you can even get from photoshop at the max setting. Viewer doesn't have that option. In terms of quality, you're not losing anything tangible though.

    Thanks, Dara!

So, when you shoot JPEG, which compression rate do you use?
