Wonderful pictures..I want to go there so badly. Very jealous.

Is this a recent trip? I have to admit that I want to get there before it opens up any more..

Yes, in fact my trip hasnt finished yet.

It is a good time to go to Burma - it has opened up but I would guess that with its limited infrastructure it will be spoilt within a couple of years.

Here are a few pics from my first day in Manadalay.

I hope you are wrong about Myanmar being spoiled in a couple of years. I'm hoping to go in 2014, during a return visit to Laos (which I love).

Your photos are wonderful and only add to my determination to get to Burma.

I suspect things will still be ok in 2014 but not for much longer.

If you look at say pics 4 and 5 of the U Bein bridge at Mandalay - they are taken 15 minutes apart either side of the bridge. There is nothing special in the photos themselves ....I just stuck my camera in the way.

However what makes them decent pics is that I am the only one in a boat taking a photo on either side of the bridge. I doubt it will be like that in a couple of years.
