Very, very nice looking camera. I thought the EM1 took them further away from the elegance of the film OMs but this one is a beauty.

So seems to be some new stuff as well (such as the lens shown in one of the videos),but this new viewfinder caught my eye, mainly cuz I'm like "what is that exactly?"

Scrolling thru, but still a little confused since don't we have live view? Or is it simply to 'find' the subject before relying on the screen?
From what I gather, you calibrate it well enough that if you point it at the target, it will be centred in the frame. It makes initial acquisition at long telephoto easier. Also, with it you don't necessarily need to use the screen at all, so you can track a moving target using the dot sight and shoot multiple frames without losing the target due to black out, or if it briefly moves out of frame.

If I can remember, the Mk1 body was $999 at launch? Don't think $100 more is too bad considering the improvements, but I'll also wait till the end of the year....
While this is true, there's a lot more competition in the market now - I think that price will fall rapidly.
Or perhaps I just hope it will ;)

I think it's a fair price. And if we stop changing camera every year, the cost will feel more fair. And I guess that we value our stuff more if the pricetag is beefy...

I'll get it together with the 14-150 II, perfect for the Philippines during typhoon months of December & January. Question is, pre-order with all its wonderful freebies (messenger bag and 5.5yrs warranty) or wait out a bit. Thoughts, anyone?

According to Olympus, this sight is compatible only with the E-M5 II and some Stylus model. I was really excited till I saw that. Doesn't work with the E-M1...

2 yrs Oly warranty, 3 yrs warranty (Jessops??) worth £79.99, and 6 mos if you sign up to newsletter. Still have to read carefully though but that's what I'm reading. I'll find the offer link.
