We visited Foster, RI today, took in two separate events.

First we visited Foster Days, which is a celebration of rural New England life held annually. Upon leaving we saw a Northern Narraganset, Native American Pow Wow.

I took many photos today and wanted to share these faces in their own space.

At Foster Days, an elderly woman with a feathered cap. Just enjoying her day. GF1 / 20mm / Aperture 3

This is Bearhawk, a member of the Dighton Tribal Council of the Pokanoket Tribe and very active in the preservation of local rivers.

This is Praying Heart. He is an elder, and the spiritual leader of the Pokanoket Tribe.

  2. #2 in particular is a great portrait. Lots of connection between the camera and the subject.

P.S. You should always ask a lady if she wants the soft-focus look

P.P.S. Are there any photos of you wearing a hat?

    Hi Nic,

I think my favorite thing about her was that she was just plain happy, just the way she is. Lots of character.

ps. Nope. No hats for me today..
