Taken in my laundry room with daylight filtering through closed mini-blinds.

Nice ISO1600 without noise reduction. Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 lens.

  2. Lovely candid of your furry friend. I don't think that I could ever get that clean of a shot at iso 1600 with my G1.

    Thank you, DDB....

I was told that the PEN had better high ISO noise control than the Panasonic, so that's why I went with it.

In all honesty, I sure would have preferred the Panasonic menus because I'm familiar with them from the FZ18, FZ35 and LX3!

I just love this shot, Isabel. It almost has a 3D quality about it.

Thank you, Jane. I can always count on Louie for a very deep look when I can get him to look at me when I have a camera in my hands.

He's beautiful. That certainly is a very clean shot for 1600 (I have an EP2 also)

Thank you, Christilou. Louie is very special to me because he's my "first" cat with whom I've had a close relationship. (I can't count "Mauser" who arrived in our yard and became part of the pet horde (I had 5 dachshunds at the time who tortured him.) I didn't see much of him, except at feeding time.

Awesome photo Isabel. I'm curious if you did any post-processing to this. I have been struggling to get the kind of razor sharp photos with the kit lens or legacy MF Nikkor glass that I routinely get with my Nikon DSLR's and pro glass. This shot gives up nothing in terms of sharpness. I have the 20/1.7 and 45/2.8 on their way, but I wondered if you had sharpened it? Love the exaggerated perspective from you obviously being so close to him.

Only processing other than slight crop and resizing down was a feathered selection of the head area that was in focus and slight sharpening. The color wasn't touched and it's really dead on. I love the color from the PEN.

This is an " arty" shot of my neighbour's cat. It had the biggest eyes. I have to confess that this is an iphone shot as I didn't have my G1 to hand.

I can't have a cat as they make my eyes swell up.

I've resisted the urge to post a kitty picture until now. Here are a couple of pictures of my sister's cat, Sasha. The photos were taken with my GF1 using the 20mm prime. The exposure for both photos was 1/250 sec at f1.7.
