When I used to shoot documentary work, I would prefer not to make eye contact with my subject in the image. I felt, that eye contact was too intimate and distracted the viewer from what was the intention of my story. I now feel much differently and actually prefer looking into the eyes of my subjects. This particular photograph was actually done at the request of the school children (seems everywhere, kids are camera hams) and is now very special to me. I did not pose these kids, they simply were themselves and allowed me to share that with all of you.
