    Lightroom is rather useful in giving an easy way to count how many photographs were taken with particular cameras and lenses. It is an interesting exercise to tot this up from time to time. It is particularly interesting to see variations in the proportion of photographs taken with each lens that were flagged (i.e. considered good enough to share).

    My statistics are below (for 2016 only): I should be interested to see others'.

    Note that I have rounded to the nearest percent except where that would yield a result of 0 and the value was non-zero.

    The most successful lenses (excluding those tried in a shop) in terms of percentage flagged appear to be, in descending order:

    (1) the 7.5mm fisheye;
    (2) the 50-200mm;
    (3) the 9-18mm;
    (4) the 60mm macro;
    (5) the 12-40mm;
    (6) the 300mm (hired);
    (7) the 25mm.

    The most useful lenses (excluding those tried in a shop) in terms of percentage of flagged pictures taken with the lens appear to be, in descending order:

    (1) the 12-40mm;
    (2) the 50-200mm;
    (3) the 60mm macro;
    (4) the 300mm (hired);
    (5) the 9-18mm;
    (6) the 25mm; and
    (7) the 7.5mm fisheye.
