EPL1 - sub 2" exposures whirring noise

    I just noticed something a bit worrying about my EPL1. If I set the shutter to be less than 2", there is a distinct whirring noise in the body of the camera during the exposure. Anything 2" and longer and this noise disappears.

    I'm having a hard time believing this is normal. :frown:

    Can anyone confirm this?

    Sounds like the IS is kicking in. Can you see the effect of IS in the LCD?

    Yes, as Rudi said; the whirring noise is the "In Body Image Stabilisation".

    Nothing to worry about. It doesn't function on exposures longer than 2s, so you wont hear/feel it.

    It's worth taking photos with it set to on and off, too. It's not such a good IS system that it's always better than you.
