Just purchased a Vello Freewave remote for my EP3. It was shown on the B&H web catalogue as an accessory for the EP3. I cannot get the remote to initiate focus nor release the shutter. This includes wired and wireless modes. The remote came with a connector cable specific to Olympus camera USB port. Any ideas out there? (note: the remote came with a second cable for use with Nikon -and this works fine with my D300S).

Other than making sure the cable is securely seated at the camera side of things, noting most 3rd party connectors are often a bit iffy in the Olympus.

    Ditto. What Peter said.

The usb connector may look like it's seated - just press in tightly. I just tried remote (worked on E-p2) and it, too, is a tight fit needing to be pressed hard to fully seat in the slot.

I just bought this remote cable from B&H and couldn't get it to work, but pushing it in harder solved the problem.
