What is the difference between the two series? I saw that the E-P5 was announced today, but how much different is it from the E-PL5? It is a big price difference, almost (if not more) than the OM-D.

I believe the L in E-PL stands for lite and E-PM, the M stands for mini.

    So line is EM>EP>EPL>EPM.

You need to compare the specs yourself to see the difference.

The major difference between the E-Px and the E-PLx series has been that the E-Px series has the most features (more buttons, dials, built-in flash, etc). In terms of sensor and image quality it's pretty much the same within each generation.

This time around the E-P5 has several significant benefits over the E-PL5 (although you may not necessarily care about all of them) - two control dials, more customizable buttons, 5-axis stabilization, 1/8000s max shutter, and built-in flash are the ones that come to mind right away.

Add intervalometer & WiFi to that as well.
