Just got the Oly 60mm a few minutes ago, and here's a crop from my very first test shot (a worthless subject, I realize; and in very poor lighting) of the High Res mode with the macro lens: Oly60-mkii.
So that's the logo from the side of a AA battery like this:

There is crazy potential here for some really fun macro stuff in a tiny light package, if the subject is stationary.

It would be really helpful to see two identical shots, one with normal mode, one with high res mode. (With 100% crops so we can see the difference clearly.)

The key would make a better subject, the print resolution on the battery seems too low at that magnification.

Take a picture of some currency, the printing on bills is fantastic :)

Should have used a dollar bill, you are right. But I found a book that had high-res printing in very small font on the back, this should show you the approximate size relative to the bar code:
Then I cropped down to 100% on the & and $ signs. The portion of the book shown here is about 1/4" x 1/4" in real life. Here are the results:
    16mp normal mode ooc jpg:
    40mp high res ooc jpp
@64mp high res raw converted to jpg in Photoshop:
If you're interested, here's a 64mp jpg of a flower you could download full res:

    And a crop from that:
Compared to a similar crop from the 16mp:

By the way, this has probably been noted elsewhere, but the resolution of the high res raw files is 9216x6912! For comparison, the new Canon 5DS is 8688x5792 (of course there are countless things the 5DS can do that the Olympus high-res mode can't do - I realize that - but it's still an interesting note).

Wait until the new EM-1 comes out where you can have it handheld
