In shooting menu 2 the ability to set silent shooting is available. Currently it is set to off. I want to turn it on but it does not give me the option to toggle on or off. I have searched the manual and can’t find an answer. The same thing with anti shock. What am I missing? Thanks for your help.

Ronnie, I think that Chris's method is probably a tad quicker, but I use both on the rare occasions when I change.

Quicker depends on the situation. When looking through the viewfinder and using a big lens like the 300/4 it is much quicker to use the SCP since you would have to do some hand swamping. I actually never use any of those buttons on the top left of the camera since they are not really accessible while looking through the viewfinder with a big lens (which is about all I ever use). Also, now that I have the X I always have the screen flipped around........................so using the SCP while looking through the viewfinder is just faster.

Figured it out. You have to set a time for delay even if it zero seconds. Off can’t be changed. When a time is entered the option to see the heart for instance on the silent single shot is available. If no time entered it’s not available.
