I love that it says Happy Christmas Darling on the 100-400 box. Oh wait, did I dream that bit?

The price is slightly better than I expected. TC support is a nice bonus. Colour me interested,

I zoomed in on the head shot comparison of Herons. Couldn't differentiate between two. What's surprising though is that PL's 400mm is actually 342mm of Olympus. Whaaaa?

Also all the reviews and impressions are saying zoom ring on Olympus is really good. I'm glad.

Performance wise it seems to be a notch better than PL100-400.
Think its going to be a great companion to the Oly 12-100, quite amazing to have that range and quality with only two lenses and such "small" package.

Good. I like that website. Their content is pretty descriptive and all encompassing. From the size comparison, it doesn't look like Olympus would fit in my bag the way PL fits (vertically) that's a minor bummer. I wish it had the same built in hood like PL. Those are really convenient. I havent used the large hood on PL ever.

Edit: I'm rather surprised at the IQ difference. Did they have a poor copy of PL? Even on mobile device I can see difference, on a large monitor it would be even more stark.

Not a stupid decision! Just a disappointing one. This is NOT a Pro lens! Sync IS is a Pro lens feature & would have added to the cost to make this lens compatible with that.
The Pro lens is still to come with Sync IS (150-400 f4.5 lens).

Taken from Robin Wong’s blog. What is that Mark IIIs? Does he means a firmware update that make the previous EM10 a “new camera”? Could not find any reference to that but I’m at work and only using breaks to check the web.

Would love to see a “new” E-M1 mk3 through a new firmware update but the one that came out only refers to better support for the new 100-400.

Actually, the 100-400 lens was already compatible with that model, with just the Focus Stacking being added in the FW update, unlike the other camera models that needed compatibility updates as well.
