After reading the title you are probably wondering what the .......

I'm a big fan of lot's of reach and this is the longest i can go at the moment and I was keen to see if the MC14 could be used to extend the Canon+2X even further without real impact to IQ.

I did not have time to shot with the different combinations this afternoon but after pulling the files into PS for a look I was surprised enough and actually think the MC14 may have helped the overall IQ as I would normally see significant CA in the 4x4 wooden post images from the old FD Canon.

The aperture was set at F5.6 and with the two tele convertors we were effective light @F13

Here's the rig just to prove it exists.

The following two peach images were shot on a tripod due to the slowish shutter speeds
    This one around 400mm FOV

This one zoomed in further likely around 800mm+ FOV

Now the next two are the top of my 4x4 bird feeder post in the back yard, I'm about 10M (30 feet) away and hand holding. As the exif data doesn't have the focal length the FOV numbers are guesses, none of the images have been cropped though.
    around 500mm + FOV

    Now this one was zoomed to 300mm - 2x = 600mm - 1.4x = 840mm - and 2X crop = 1680mm FOV

Now whilst they are not razor sharp, there's enough wood detail to say this is useful when they extend reach is absolutely needed

Ok, a couple more images from today till i get to go through them properly.

Pixel peepers will find all sorts of things, but for web and likely up to 8x10 these would be fine.

    All three are uncropped.

This with both TC in place

This little guy was flitting around a tree in the backyard, despite what looks like bright sunshine it was quite shady under the branches and we were at 5000ISO to keep the shutter speed, This was only with the MC14 in place
