EM1 how to completely shut off display?

    trying to shoot time lapses and want no playback and preview either on EVF or LCD.... couldnt find option to disable it entirely for the duration of the timelapse

    Easy.
    1. Hold down botton to left of EVF until it lets you turn on or off automatic switching. Turn it off.
    2. Touch button to left of EVF so the EVF is on and the LCD is off.

    i was peeking into the EVF and it was showing live view in between the shots.... didnt turn off completely. and AFAIK the evf consumes more power than lcd

    I don't think it's possible on the e-m1.

    No you can turn it off, at least in modes other than scenes.. Mine is off at all time but I forgot how I did it..

    Oh you mean the previews of the shot just taken? thats in the menu under the wrench turn rec view off
