I have noticed my EM-5 II has started to act funny every once in a while. Sometimes in A mode or Video mode the lens I have mounted will not focus when I press the shutter half way down. It acts as if it's frozen for a few seconds. Also, if I hit the record button it will not engage. Many times I was reviewing my pictures or video right after I took them then camera would go back to live mode.

I changed lenses to see if it was a lens issue, but it happens either way. I have the Nocticron and Pany 25. I'd say it happens more with the Nocticron on, but maybe because I use that lens more? I have the warranty on my EM-5 along with the extended warranty.

Has anyone experienced this or something like this? Is this normal of Olympus? I came from Pany G3. I though maybe this might have something to do with my sd card? I have a 64gb transcend.

    Thoughts?

I had the same problem when I put an sd cards in my em5 (or ep5) from an other camera, I formated the sd card within the camera, and it fixed it.

The 64gb card is a new card. I did format it once I got and seems to be working fine. The card is a little more than half way full do you think that could be affecting it's performance?

Even the AF locking up sometimes?

Don't know if this could affect the performance. Is it a micro sd?

I just returned that 64 bg and ordered this 32gb Lexar Pro. I was using the 32gb Transcend and didn't have any issues.

I've had the same thing happen a couple of times on my E-M10 in A mode, as well. In fact, it just happened the other day. I was using the 12-40 f/2.8 lens and a Lexar Pro 64GB 1000x card when it most recently occurred. I'm pretty certain I was using the same card, but cannot recall what lens I was using, when it happened earlier.

I wound up changing to Auto mode, took a shot....and then returned to A mode, where everything was back to normal, and I had no recurrences.

Well I'm showing my age lol. I think I found out was happening. On my battery grip I had the lock part set to unlock. So I think my palm was bumping the other set of controls! Thus not allowing for certain things not to work or buttons misfiring. Thanks all for the replies.

I'm over 40...it's the complexity of the devices and poor placement of controls more than our age....at least that is my position, and I'm sticking with it! :D

Hi. Just found this thread searching around. Running into write issues with Lexar 1000x cards.

Just purchased a Lexar 64GB 1000x UHS-II card to use in my E-M5II. Got a good sale deal on two of these cheaper than the SanDisk Extreme Pro cards that I usually use.

However, as I found out this weekend while trying to shoot clips during soccer that both cards were freezing up while shooting video. Everyone couple of clips I would freeze at 13 or 14 seconds (it would vary) and the card would flash as if it were clearing buffer, screen would freeze and then once it stopped the camera came back to life.

Running the latest firmware, new cards, formatted in camera, played for hours with settings and cannot figure this out. Also cannot duplicate with any of my other cards...SanDisk and Eye-Fi.

Note that this is only with video. Still pics are fine.

This is my first Lexar card and I'm thinking it's a compatability issue with this card.
