It's not entirely clear to me (from the illustrations in the EM-5's manual, and in looking at it) whether the cover for the HDMI/USB/AV OUT on the left side of the EM-5 is meant to be completely removed or not.

It LOOKS like the answer is No (ie - it remains attached at the bottom of the camera), but doesn't this cause issues when using a wired remote, for instance? I don't want to try removing it, if it's not meant to be removed. But, if it's meant to remain attached at camera bottom, it seems like it's very prone to break off with continued use of a wired remote or other use of these ports.

On the other hand, if it is meant to be entirely removed, it seems like it's really easy to lose...

    So, which is it?

That's the only one that's not removable!

BTW, you need to flip the monitor down in order to open the rubber side door.

    Thanks, Mike.

Yeah - I noticed that you have to flip the LCD to get at it. I guess that the LCD helps keep it in place! Pretty awkward, if you ask me.
