Just curious, since it doesn't have an accessory port, what is the hot shoe on the EM-10 good for?

    Thank you!!

Flash guns, triggers etc, a flash off camera tends to give a more interesting result than the onboard, you can get a cable that carries the TTL signal or a trigger and old style studio lights.

The traditional (and still main) purpose of a hotshoe is to mount a flash. The E-M10 has one built in, but it is very small, so one can mount a much bigger flash on the hotshoe for when a very small flash is not enough.

  4. I have both the FL300R and the FL600R and on my M-10 I almost always use the the FL300 over the pop-up unless I'm using the pop-up for a remote trigger. On lenses as long as the 60 macro or longer, you will get a shadow from the pop-up (at least I do).

Why use the FL300R versus the FL600R on the E-M10?
  6. The 300 is small, quick and easy. The 600 is almost as heavy as the camera is, complicated and new to me. And I'm old, so I can process so much at at time..
