Last night I managed to snag a Canon FD 100mm f/2 (not 2.8!) for $49. I now feel much better about skipping the 135/2 that was going for $200. The only weird things are that the 100 has some sort of spacer/flange on it (but that is removable), and that there's tape covering the focus scale. Looking at the seller's other items, it looks like they got the offcasts of some electronics or research lab. But the lens looks to be in great shape, and once the flange is off and the tape goo is removed, it should be all set to go. Now comes the hard part--waiting for it to arrive. But I think this'll make a nice fast moderate telephoto. Technically I don't "need" it, since I've pre-ordered a 100-300, but this will be for different uses.
