So I finally got my E-PM1, at last! (yay!) And I'm totally clueless and don't know what I'm doing, haha.. but I noticed something weird. I hear a prolonged sound of some sort when I take a picture in low lighting. As if something is turning inside. While I wouldn't say it sounds like a grinder of some sort, it does sound kind of similar. Does anyone know if this is normal, or if this is a malfunction?

It's IBIS. It's normal, it kicks in full force in low light at slow shutter speeds. You can turn it off and the sound will be gone.

Thanks! I just noticed that, too. I was just a bit worried because when it does it for 2 seconds, it almost sounds like a car's starter. Most of the time it's quicker, though.

I don't hear it but I do notice the shutter is quite loud.

Depending on how dark it was and what you were capturing it may also have been the lens hunting for focus.
