    Hi everybody!

I've just received a Sigma EX DN 19mm f2.8 for my e-pm1, the lens quality is very good for the price (about 169 euros in France), but i've notice a "lag" when powering on the camera (about 3 seconds)before i can take a photo.
Does anybody got the same problem on this combo? Starting time with an Olympus lens is much faster...

Will a firmware upgrade fix the problem?(1.2 for the cam, 1.0 for the lens)

    Sorry for my english

    Thanks for your help.

Hi, I think this is just how it is with the Sigma lenses, something to do with the autofocus system starting itself up. I have the same delay with the first generation (ribbed plastic body) 30mm on my E-PM1.

Is your 19mm first generation (ribbed body) or second generation (smooth body)? I read somewhere that start up lag should be improved in second generation lenses.

Same thing happens with my Sigma 30mm first generation on both my E-P1 and E-M5.
From what I've read it's "normal".

That's pretty normal for the sigma lenses. I just tried the 19 on both my e-pl1 and g3 and startup is around 2 second. The 30mm is similar

Yes my Sigma 30mm (older version) takes a few seconds on my E-PM1. Barely any start up lag on my G3 though.

I also have a EPM1 & the Sigma 19mm (older model) and using it for quite a while now, I havent noticed any startup lag with my unit. With the cheap price and quality photos it produces, even with any lag, i won't have any issue with it.

I use the 30 and the 19 on my EPL2 and my G3 and really don't notice any lag time.

By curiosity could you give me your lens firmware version?
