I noticed some noise in my RAW files on iso 200. This disappears if I shoot a step overexposed and then underexpose it in LR.
    Is this normal?

  2. As long as you're not burning any highlights that you don't want to lose, this is one of the fundamental reasons for using ETTR (expose to the right).

Yes, the 16 MP sony sensor is a little grainy/noisy even at base ISO. Doesn't really bother me much, as most RAW processors take care of it, but I wouldn't say no to smoother base ISO rendering (D800/5DmkII/III)

You can pretend you've got an ISO 100 setting - just leave it at ISO 200 and shoot it 1 stop over. I often do this for landscapes and coupled with a grad ND filter for the sky, it gives great results.
