I have zeroed in on the E-PL1 as my preferred m4/3 body. I plan to use various manual focus F-mount macro lenses on it via RJCamera adapters.

The macro lenses I have typically range in weight from 450gm to 650gm. I'll almost always be shooting from the tripod and use a arca-style body plate on the PL1 body.

Are lenses with weights in above range OK to use on the PL1 for the long term (if it lasts 2 years I am happy)?

Just tried a 655gm Lens PL 14-150 with adaptor and its fine on the PL1
Little flex when leverage applied to the end of the lens barrel.
You should be fine just don't treat the body like an all magnesium body.
