E-PL1 in the hands of a novice.

My wife got back from Bali today and she took along the E-PL1 that I bought her after our LX2 bit the dust. I simply set the camera to iAuto/Large Fine JPG and explained when to pop up the flash and how to work the video. She's not really into photography, but makes an effort to look for nice things to photograph, other than the usual family stuff.

To that end, I think the E-PL1 turned out to be a much better camera than the intended LX3 I thought of getting and returned some quite good shots, given her limited experience (much better than what she used to get with the LX2). She also had printed some of the shots onto canvas while in Bali (420mm x 560mm for AU$1.50 ea :eek:) that look pretty good. So, at the end of the day, I'm more than happy that I got the E-PL1 over the LX3. I think it's a more intelligent, forgiving and competent camera than pretty much any of the P&S cameras currently available, yet still a very comfortable form factor for a travel camera.
