Hi John,

I caught the whole set in that "other place". The in focus bits emphasise the sharpness you're getting with your E-P2, but I'm afraid that these images don't do anything for me. Sorry. :frown:

I think that this style of processing is best done from a higher position looking down with a horizontal band in focus and going OOF above and below the band. Can you choose that that option with the Diorama rt setting on the E-P2? If so, try shooting a few pics from on high. Down a hill or from the top of a building perhaps.

Just my 2p's worth.

Paul

Gasp! There's another place? Surely you jest!

edited to delete some remark even more pointless than the one above which replaces it

What would look really interesting in my opinion, would be to spend time in photoshop adding the shadow of a giant handheld camera or go to the trouble of faking it's reflection in the red car body or perhaps, easier, the windows in the highstreet picture.

... that would truly be quite freaky IMO.

most of the diaroama filter effects have been up down affairs , that ive seen so far and employed vistas and expanses with a simulated foreground \backround defocus

but some of these do the left\ right defocus , and for closer subjects its very good

thanks , cant wait to get a camera that has this software "filter"

I have to add this one - I think the diorama filter is great fun

All using the Kit lens, sadly it was a very overcast morning, so it doesn't really pop like I wanted it to.
