E-P1 finally kicks the bucket ... sort of.

Couple years of good hard service (and I bought it used) and one too many times the kids dropped it so now the back buttons are non-responsive. Also the mode dial does not work except on power cycle. Still seems to work as it is supposed to put you can imagine the frustration at not being able to use the menu button, etc - even review does not work!

Symptoms seem to indicate a cable or two have slipped their moorings ... I've not had much luck taking the exterior covers off to reveal the cables but I was fairly gingerly as I did not want to break things. Now I can be a bit more aggressive and see if a DIY repair is possible.

If anyone has any tips on how to disassemble an E-P1 I'd love to hear!

Let us know how this goes and post some pictures of the surgery if you can.

Houston, we have a go! All systems fully operational. Just one little cable come loose. Sorry, no pix of the operation.
